Other Records (Birth, Death, Marriage, Wills)

Birth, death, marriage and wills are available online on our Secure Remote Access site. Birth and death records can be found under the Genealogy filter and the images are free to view. Marriage licenses can be found using the Marriage Search and Certified Copy Request filter and the index is free but viewing images requires purchasing a subscription on the site. Wills can be found using the Wills filter and the index is free but viewing images requires purchasing a subscription on the site. Public Access stations are available for searching in the Deed Room within the Clerk's Office.

The Division of Vital Records has birth, death, divorce and marriage records available in index form. Click here to access indexed information on open records. In Virginia, death, marriage and divorce data becomes open, i.e. public, 25 years after the event and birth data becomes open, i.e. public, after 100 years.
