Request for Duplicate Permit

Criteria


In instances of change of address, change of name or a lost or destroyed permit, a duplicate concealed handgun permit can be issued. The original concealed handgun permit must be current and issued by Rockingham County Circuit Court. Expiration date for permit will not change when re-issued.

  • Change of Address form: old permit will need to be surrendered prior to or upon issuance of new permit. See fees below. Include self addressed stamped envelope, if you want re-issued permit mailed to you
  • Change of Name oath: old permit will need to be surrendered prior to or upon issuance of new permit, proof of name change must be provided, oath must be notarized or signed in front of a deputy clerk. Include self addressed stamped envelope, if you want re-issued permit mailed to you. 
  • Lost or Destroyed oath: If your permit is lost or destroyed, you may request a replacement. Oath must be notarized or signed in front of a deputy clerk. Include self addressed stamped envelope, if you want re-issued permit mailed to you.

    • We accept cash, checks, money orders and credit cards. All credit card transactions will include a 4% surcharge. Checks can be made payable to Clerk of Court.

Note: The concealed handgun permit clerk will notify you once the duplicate permit has been issued.
