AARP Smart Driver

Participants will learn defensive driving techniques, new traffic laws and rules of the road to safely adjust driving to compensate for age-related changes. Persons who complete the course will be issued a Certificate of Completion to be provided to your insurance company for a discount. Please feel free to bring a brown bag lunch to class. All course materials are provided to participants and no tests are involved. Class will be led by AARP instructor, Kati Mole.

Church Security

Representatives of Rockingham County Sheriff's Department will present on trending security information regarding how to secure your church. You will learn about weaknesses your church may have, how to fix them and different strategies that are effective in making sure your church is as safe as it can be from potential threats. Everyone is welcome to attend that might find this information useful.

Getting Started on eBay

Join us at the Rockingham County Administrative Complex for a class on getting started with eBay. The class will cover the basics of setting up an account, taking quality photos, creating listings, shipping and best practices for running an eBay store.

Beginner Rock Climbing & Rappelling

Join us for a full day of learning to climb, belay, and rappel; ages 12 and older (teens may attend unaccompanied, but their transportation must be provided by a parent or guardian). All technical gear is provided and a personal suggested clothing list and the Medical Form/Participant Agreement will be supplied by WILD GUYde Adventures after registration.

Women's Fall Volleyball

The Fall volleyball season will start the week of September 11 and run until November. Teams will be able to choose the night of play, Monday (Competitive Division), or Wednesday (Recreational Division) nights. There is an 8-team maximum per night. We need at least 6 per night to fill a league, teams may be asked to switch nights if there are not enough teams. You will not be allowed to play both nights as a player. Each team will play at least two games per night. *No games October 9.

DIY Door Décor

Nothing is more satisfying than making something with your own hands. So, whether you’d like to decorate the house with a personalized touch, create something for a loved one or just have fun, we have craft classes for you! Participants will paint and assemble an 18” wooden seasonal door hanger, all supplies are included in the fee.

Campcraft & Outdoor Survival Skills

Join us for a full day in the George Washington National Forest learning fire-building, shelter construction, and some back-country navigation skills. This is for ages 12 and older, and useful for hunters, day-hikers and backpackers, and anyone else who likes to wander off the beaten path! Teens may attend unaccompanied, but their transportation must be provided by a parent or guardian. After registration WILD GUYde Adventures will supply a What to Bring list and the Medical Form/Participant Agreement to fill out.

Men's Softball

We will have a Monday night Men's Softball League starting in August and run until October. Make-up games are at the discretion of the department and can be played on any night. Space is limited to the first 8 teams that are signed up. We will have a waitlist for the teams after registration becomes full.
