Electoral Board Meeting Notice - September 27, 2023 at 1:00 PM

Special meeting of the Rockingham County Electoral Board will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, September 27, in the Registrar’s Office Annex, 20 East Gay Street, Harrisonburg. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the ADA compliance survey required by the Virginia Department of Elections. Other matters may also be discussed at this time.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Voter Registrar’s Office is to:

  • Provide equal opportunity for all qualified citizens of Rockingham County to register to vote
  • Maintain accurate voter records used in elections
  • Conduct all elections at the highest level of professional standards, ensuring public confidence in the integrity of the results
  • Be an information resource for citizens regarding voter registration, absentee voting, elections, and elected officials

 IN PERSON ABSENTEE VOTING 

Early Voting is available at the Rockingham County Administration Center Board of Supervisors Room (20 E. Gay St.) beginning Friday, September 22, 2023. You do not need an excuse or an application to vote in-person absentee. To vote early, you must: be a registered voter of Rockingham County, provide your name and address, and show an acceptable form of ID. Early voting is open Monday through Friday, 8 AM until 4PM, and the two Saturdays prior to Election Day (October 28 and November 4), 9 AM until 5 PM.

CURBSIDE VOTING
 is also available to individuals 65 years or older or those with a physical disability (including permanent physical disability, temporary physical disability, or injury).

 Absentee Voting due to COVID-19

In light of the COVID-19 national health crisis, the Virginia State Department of Elections has made Absentee Voting by mail available to those who wish to practice social distancing. Click on the link below to apply for an Absentee Ballot by mail. Instructions for completing this process online have also been provided.
