Senior Citizen and Disability Real Estate Tax Relief
Rockingham County adopted an ordinance for Tax Relief for the Elderly and/or Disabled for those applicants owning real estate or a mobile home, as a main resident and has reached the age of 65 by December 31st. The total income of household can not exceed 32,000 and total worth not to exceed 70,000, not including one acre and dwelling. NOTE: If you sell your residence during the year, please notify the Commissioner of the Revenue's office immediately before the closing in order to make adjustments to the tax bill.
