Beginning in January you will need to start reporting all personal property that is owned as of January 1st of each year to the Commissioner's office. YOU WILL NEED TO FILE if you are new to Rockingham County or if you have purchased a vehicle within the previous year. Come into the office to fill out a personal property assessment form or give us a call so we can set you up to receive a form in the mail.  These forms are mailed out the last week of February. In order to avoid a late filing penalty you will need to file this information by May 1st of each year. ALL BUSINESSES within Rockingham County MUST file an assessment form every year.  An itemized breakdown, including a description of all equipment owned, date purchased and original cost IS REQUIRED. This includes all expensed or fully depreciated items.  If you have any questions please call (540) 564-3065.

The deadline to file Tax Relief for the Elderly or Disabled is April 1st each year.
