Free Smoke Detector Program

We would like to make you aware of a program that you may not know exists.  Rockingham County Department of Fire & Rescue has a FREE SMOKE DETECTOR program.  This program is supported by local civic groups and fire associations within the county and has been in place for over twenty years.

In an effor to make sure that our citizens are protected in the event of a fire, we will provide you with a free smoke detector if you do not currently have a working detector in your home.  If you are in need of a detector just fill out the attached form and return it to the Fire and Rescue office.

Once we receive your application you will receive a phone call from your local fire department.  They will come to your home to install the detector at a time that is convenient to you.
