The Rockingham County Treasurer’s Office is excited to introduce a new service available to all citizens allowing tax information to be searched, viewed and payments to be made online. With this service, you can search and pay Real Estate and Personal Property taxes 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using your credit card or e-check.
Rockingham County Treasurer, L. Todd Garber, with assistance from the County Information Systems Department designed the site and teamed with VisualGov Inc. to implement and launch this new product now available to the public. Taxpayers can use their Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express cards for a nominal fee or use an e-check by entering their bank routing number and account number to have payment automatically withdrawn directly from a bank account for a flat fee. Convenience fees are charged and retained by the County’s service provider VisualGov in accordance with bank card rules and regulations. All tax records presented are public information in accordance with the Virginia Public Information Act.
This new offering, will allow citizens the option of using the internet to research for tax amounts and other necessary information without having to make a trip into the office. In time, the Treasurer would like to expand this service to pay additional bills, apply for licenses and other services online.
